Welcome to the 7th edition of Investment Committee, where we aim to give you front row seats to the deliberations, discussions, and decisions around how the team is managing Titan’s active equity strategies.
The team meets regularly to assess the fundamental trends of our portfolio companies, the macro environment, current events/news, how they affect individual stocks, and how we should position our strategies moving forward.
Our analysts have been heads down for the last couple of months doing something we call “zero-based portfolio budgeting” across Flagship, Opportunities, and Offshore. This is where we start from a blank sheet of paper and ask how would we comprise our strategies today in terms of individual stocks and their weightings. Our goal with this process is to make changes to our strategies’ holdings to get them to what we believe is the most optimal place to kick off the year, removing any anchoring bias that might be lurking in our pre-existing holdings.
In this update, I walk you through how we apply this philosophy to our strategies.
