The Titan Corporation Awarded Contract
From FAA Air Traffic Service With
Potential Value of $2.5 Million


SAN DIEGO, CA (August 14, 1997) -- The Titan Corporation (NYSE-TTN) announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the FAA Air Traffic Service for data integration and design/development of the first Air Traffic component of an Executive Information System. The amount of the initial contract award is $572,000, with the potential value of the contract and follow-on task orders totaling $2.5 million.

The first component of the system will cover up-to-date information on daily FAA air traffic operations as well as long-term trend information. Decision support information on air traffic operations counts, air traffic delays, causes for delays, operational errors and deviations, operational evaluations and performance measures will be made available through the system to all Air Traffic Service Executives. Titan has previously developed two Executive Information System modules for the FAA Airway Facilities.

Commenting on the announcement, Titan President and Chief Executive Officer Gene W.
